You can just book this treatment but you can also book any other facial and include the complimentary consultation as an add on if you are a first time client. Your first appointment is our opportunity to analyze the current state of your skin and your skin goals. Together, we will build a homecare and treatment plan to maximize your results. You also have the option to add an Introductory Facial for $120 with the consultation.
An all-inclusive facial is a customized skincare treatment that addresses your specific skin concerns and includes the products, techniques and devices needed to accelerate and amplify your results. You don’t have to upgrade your experience by paying for additional add-ons, they are already included in your service.
I follow many of the principles of corneotherapy which concentrate on the integrity of the protective barrier of the skin. Corneotherapy is a scientifically holistic approach to skincare that focuses on addressing the cause, not just the symptoms of your skin issues. We work together to protect, rebuild, and maintain your skin’s barrier defense systems encouraging healthy skin and preventing premature damage from occurring. This is a progressive rather than aggressive approach to skin care.
Just a few things to keep in mind when waxing. I have been waxing professionally since 1998 and was named one of the top waxers in the US by Allure Magazine in 2010. I have seen it all and am phased by none of it so if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly.
· The hair you want waxed needs to be at least a quarter of an inch (think 2 weeks after shaving).
· Discontinue any exfoliating products including Retin-A, retinol, retinoids, peels, exfoliation etc. for at least 7-10 days before your appointment. If you are using a prescription that cautions against sun exposure, you could be at risk for skin lifting so please let me know. Remember products move around your face so even if you applied a retinol around your eyes, it will impact the skin everywhere on your face and could cause the skin to lift when waxed.
· Menstruation. If you are on your period, please wear a tampon if you are receiving a bikini or Brazilian wax. Whether or not you are menstruating is not an issue for your service but understand that your pain reception may be heightened during this time.
· If you have a cold sore or any other broken, inflamed or irritated skin, please wait until it has healed before getting a wax service to prevent the spread of any viruses or infections.
· Please wait a year after discontinuing Accutane before waxing your face or body to avoid damage to your skin.
· Completing the waxing forms when you make your appointment helps me provide the safest, most efficient visit for you.
Sound healing works by harnessing specific sound frequencies to activate the body’s natural healing processes. When exposed to sound, our brain waves synchronize, or "entrain," with the frequency, which can help induce relaxation, alleviate stress and anxiety, and support physical recovery.
Yes and no. While more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms of sound healing, there is evidence suggesting its effectiveness. Studies have shown that sound can influence brain waves, heart rate, and other physiological processes. For instance, certain types of music have been found to reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, improve sleep quality, and enhance relaxation, likely by affecting the autonomic nervous system and influencing the release of stress and relaxation hormones.
One popular sound therapy technique is binaural beats, where two slightly different frequencies are played in each ear, and the brain perceives a single tone that corresponds to the difference between them. Research has indicated that binaural beats may help improve focus, reduce anxiety, and promote relaxation, although more studies are needed to confirm these effects and clarify the underlying mechanisms.
A common claim among sound therapy advocates is that the human body, being mostly water, can be influenced by sound vibrations. This idea is based on basic physics: when sound waves pass through a medium like water, they cause the particles within that medium to vibrate. The belief is that these vibrations can trigger changes at the cellular level, potentially fostering healing and well-being.
You don’t need to believe in sound healing for it to have an effect. The healing benefits of sound are grounded in principles of physics and biology, and anyone exposed to sound frequencies can experience them. However, having an open mind and a willingness to embrace the healing process can enhance the experience.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
